I'm 22 year old woman and going to Thailand on 22th December 2016.
I'm half thai and I have relatives in Nakhon Ratchasima, so my first stop is there.
I will be staying in Nakhon Ratchasima with my family probably a week or two and after that I don't have any plans yet.
I'm looking for a person or a group to explore Thailand together. I'm interested in nature, food, music, hiking, diving, partying..etc. I'm open minded basically for everything.
This is my first time travelling alone, so some company would be nice!

December is the most expensive time to visit Thailand. Especially near Christmas and New Years holidays.
In Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin and a few other cities you can sign on to tours in person through local travel agencies or even through some hotels tour desks if you use them. There are some private tour guides you can use too but they will not be cheap, especially December - January. Perhaps a cousin or aunt can act as a companion and guide and end up cheaper than private guides.

When in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) maybe visit Prasat and Philmai if you like. Google up more info.
Be careful meeting up strangers. Some of them can be creepy and are only out for what they can get from you! Never invite any strangers directly to your hotel. Screen them first!
If it has been a long time since you were in Thailand keep in mind that Thai police are kind of strict when dealing with drunks and dopers. So be careful of who you chum around with. You don't want to be swept up with "new friends" who may be doing something illegal.
Do a Google search for "solo woman traveler in Thailand" and read some of those posts. If it has been a long time since you were in Thailand, or you were very little, do a search for "scams to avoid in Bangkok" so you are not taken advantage of.

Don't want to scare you out of adventuring and having fun..Thailand is a great place to visit and live (in my case) but the world is not what it used to be so, I tend to agree with karazyal...always err on the side of caution. If you have family here that's great, may be some can be your traveling companion or at least help you plan your trips and find someone trustworthy to go with you. This is what I do for my family and friends who visit from abroad especially first timers...I help them plan their trips and/or take them myself.

no matter how safe it is, and it is safe 99% of the time, with low crime rates, you need to be careful and if I were a single girl (solo traveller) I would be thinking on getting someone to come along - I went to Ukraine and Russia as a solo male and while nothing happened i didn't feel safe....
