Hiya, my names Roz im 22, from England and am maybe travelling alone to bangkok on August 10th 2011. Am a bit nervous about travelling alone, but have heard its really easy to meet people etc. Just thought id make a little thread on here incase anyone else is in my situation! Havent planned anything too much yet, but was thinking of going to the full moon party on the 14th, then seeing what happens after that! Am wanting to go vietnam and north thailand aswel!
Hey Roz - I am getting in on the 5th - also travelling solo, would be good to chat and see if we're planning the same things....
I might head down to the full moon party - I also want to do some diving somewhere, thinking about Chiang mai - then heading across to laos maybe and travelling down the mekong river - thats about as far as I have planned - much prefer to go with the flow and have a few places I'd like to see!

Yeah i havent really planned anything yet to be honest! Its all a bit up in the air! I was meant to be going with my boyfriend on the 23rd august but we are separating so i was going to change my plane ticket to earlier to go to the full moon party cos i kinda know someone whos going (not that well though!)
Ive never really travelled alone before but yeah everyone is saying to go for it! Chiang Mai is definately somewhere i wanna go! Looks beautiful! And diving aswel How long are you there for?? I think the island koh tao is meant to be the one for diving!
Yeah i was just planning on going with the flow aswel! In the hope that ill meet people etc and tag along with them!!

...I have been to a full moon party many moons ago ( I barely remember it) but I think I will be heading that way to do some diving on Koh Tao anyway. I'm running away from a split too - travelling can be a great cure!

Don't worry, travelling Thailand solo is easy! Im going back on my own for the second time over July and August.
You'll find it really easy to meet people!
If you're interested in diving, I'd deffinatley recommend Koh Tao or Phi Phi!
Chang Mai is a great city too. You must go on a Jungle Trek there!

I've started thinking i need to get away and i fancy thailand. i would be going solo it's nice to know others will be out there. not sure if have balls to do it or where to start. i need to do it within july and august tho because looking for teaching jobs. em x

Also really wanting to go to Thailand August time this year, absolutely terrified though, would be my first time travelling, never mind on my own!
Absolutely just want to get out there and see what there is to see.
Planning on going for about three weeks, in August, should be amazing.

Hey girls! Im exactly the same. I havent booked anything yet but Im wanting to travel round Thailand for a few months, Bangkok, Phuket, Phi Phi islands too anywhere really. Was supposed to be planning it with my friend but she's decided to go somewhere else so now Im on my own too.
Ive never been travelling and coming up to 24 (next thursday is my birthday) Im hoping I havent left it too late. I kinda just wanna go asap now that I know its what I wanna do.
I too am terrified of travelling alone and really wanna meet new people!
