Travel companion India january

Hi, Im looking for someone beetween 20- 25 to travel with in india in January. As of now I don't have so many plans other than I would like To go to the north richikesh and do yoga and travel to other part to. I'm open for ideas. I'm thinking of traveling for one month to three. I'm an easygoing person who loves a good laugh, art and activity. For the last three months ihave been traveling solo around south east asia- thailand, filipines and Cambodia. I travel to experience different cultures and to get new perspectives life.

Hi Elly,

I am in Nepal at the moment, but am looking to go to India (more North I think as well) and am interested in possibly doing some yoga too! I have just finished two months here as a volunteer and am here planning what to do next. When do you arrive in India?

Cheers,
Sophie

Hi Sophie Thanks for the fast reply sounds like a good experience volunteering in Nepal! I have to organice my visa for india in malayisa and think that will take me two weeks or so. How much time do you have traveling? For me it doesnt matter so much where in India I travel to, just want to experience the culture and country. Ive heard that the north is supposed to be less touristy but its also colder climate there now, so i am open for traveling in the south also! would be a good thing I think to have another person to experience the country with. Whats your plans, do yooou have a visa for India?

best regards Elly

Hi Elly!

Happy new years! Sorry, I dont think I was subscribed to this forum so I didnt get your reply until now. I am also currently trying to get my Indian visa, takes a lot longer than I first thought. So I will book a flight to India when I do that...which might be in two weeks or less hopefully!
My time traveling is flexible, I am from NZ but am on my way to the UK (as I have a working visa there)...it all depends on budget.
I was originally going to go to north India, but am thinking I might do some HelpX work (like volunteering, but free accom!) and the one place I found was in south...(Chennai) so I think I might head there. Also, the cold in Nepal at the moment is getting much worse!! I would love some warmth!
Where are you at the moment? And when do you arrive in India?

Kind regards,
Sophie

Hi Sophie

happy new year to you to! im glad we are still in touch

At the moment I am in sihanoukville, Cambodia and I vill stay here to the ninth when I go to bankok to organince my visa for India. It will probably take around 9 days all together to get it so i will be in india around the 18 if everything goes according to plan. I think climate in the south is the best right now so I'm starting there, its also softer than the north and as its my first time I think It's good to do the north after the south. Chennai sound like a good place! What kind of volunteer project are you thinking of? Sounds interesting!

Keep in touch

Elly

Hi Elly,

It is a reforestation project, which has a minimum volunteer time of one month. So I will probably (like you) be looking at arriving around the 18th of Jan. How long are you planning to spend in India?
Yes, the climate is much more ideal down south I think! A bit of a change from the 0degrees we are having at night time in Nepal.
It sounds like we are sort of looking at doing the same things though (yoga etc), so keep me updated when you get your visa/flight sorted and we can see if we are in the same place at the same time!!

Sophie
