One way ticket to SEA

My boy friend and I have booked one way tickets to SEA and will be arriving in Bangkok on the 29 of March. We don't even know where we're staying the first night. Suss it out sooner or later I suppose. My first trip out of the US was solo for two months with 5 weeks renting a house in savusavu Fiji. (Very small town) meeting people and going last minute to NZ and OZ.

Ashleigh,
Easy ones first. I have been to SEA over 10 times and never bothered with Malaria tabs. I guess if you are going to sleep out in the jungle it might make sense. For 95% of visitors to SEA it doesn't IMO.
Shoes. Forget your toms & rainbows. Buy a decent pair of sandals that you can walk miles in and get wet. Something like Plus a combo shoes.
Visas. Tland, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines will give you a free visa on arrival. Cambodia, Laos will sell you a visa on arrival. VN is the one country you have to plan ahead. Buy it in Laos or Cambodia if you are going overland into VN. You can do it online if you fly into VN. covers my experience flying into SaiGon.
Good luck with your planning.
