My boyfriend was convicted of glassing someone and sentenced to 2 years prison serving one year. this was about 4 years ago that he was in prison for the incident, he was released in 2010.
There is no certain answer. It's impossible to predict.
If he presents himself very well to US CBP chances are very high he'll sail right through and be in the clear, no big deal. But nothing is 100%.
Good luck.

Terry
....& send him home?
Does anyone know - Is 'sent home' what happens, or can one expect a longer stay in the US than expected?
There have been a couple of horror stories re Visa infractions in the US lately. The Indian diplomat was one & another I cannot bring to mind at present.
