Hi,
No clue about reducing checked luggage costs, but United has a very generous carry-on policy so why check luggage at all... just pack light...
Have fun.
Cheers,
Terry
Hi,
This is our first time on this forum and looking forward to getting lots of tips and ideas regarding travel.
My wife and I are travelling to the US/Canada in May/June 2015.
During our time in the US we will be doing approximately six internal flights flying with United Airlines and are aware that we will liable for the costs of transporting our baggage during these flights.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can reduce these costs? e.g. can we join a club within United Airlines and therefore receive a discount rate?
Most grateful for any ideas you may have.

Is U.S. Airlines your only option for flying within the US while you're here?
(Have you already purchased those tickets?)
Southwest Airlines allows up to two free checked bags, one personal, and one carry-on per person.
Although, there are of course size and weight restrictions for those luggage items.
