Travel buddy for South America

i'm planning to go travelling in South america in 2015, at the moment on my own. I've never been and wondered whether I should be looking up travel buddies or should I go it alone? what are the advantages either way?
Thanks all!

Hi Jake! Travelling is such a great thing! I personally think it is a matter of taste if you better like travelling alone or with some mates and I think you should try out both variants for really knowing, which way of travelling better fits to you. I have tried both and after all I must admit that I hate travelling alone, because everytime I travelled alone, I got bored very quickly. I think this is because you're neither able to share those amazing travelling experiences with anyone. Of course, if you travel with someone else, you'll have to make compromises frome time to time 'cause your mate possibly won't always want to do/see the same things as you. Hope I could help you out! Anyway: I'm planning to go travelling to South America (probably Argentina, eventually Columbia) in January/February 2015 and I'm looking for a mate. If you're interested contact me.

Hi Third Lanark. Thanks for the advice, I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to do a bit of both. Not sure exactly when I'm going but will message you if I'm going to be around at the start of 2015! Thanks!

Hey guys.
I'm also planning a trip for the new year and am going solo.
I will already be on easter island for 6 weeks helping with a volunteer program and then totally open from there. I get into San, Chile on december 27. Let me know what your planning if interested? cheers fella's!

Hey hey!

I will also be travelling South America. I'm leaving soon and I guess I'll be in Argentina or Chile around January. I have nothing fixed yet, but I have some things in mind (Patagonia for sure).
Same here...wouldn't mind travelling with a companion!

That sounds quite good man, if you really get a travel buddy through this sort of spot then surely things can go well with you if everything stays good between you and him.So i guess this is the way how normally it all is and it goes ahead.

Hey jake! Do you have any idea when you might be going and where?

I want to go too, I'm currently living in sydney so I want to do east coast and New Zealand first then thailand and South america but might have to work along the way.

I'm also travelling solo through South America from February to May! I plan on doing a minimum of 7500km in these 3 months because I arrive in Foz do Iguaçu and I depart from Lima, so...quite a long way! I hope it was not such a crazy idea!! I plan on seeing buenos aires, santiago chile, valparaiso, and then spend more time around bolivia and peru. Everything done by bus, no plane. Do you have some suggestions of places I shouldn't miss?

I'm also ready to share some parts of my trip with other people so if you want we can maybe meet somewhere on the way!

If you are a regular traveller then you are habtuall of travelling alone. But if you travel ocasionally then you must have a buddy with you. If you go alone for you tour you may feel bored or alone. Sometimes you find a buddy on your tour and he became a good partner for the rest of your tour..
