We have been travelling to Australia for some time. And we are wondering if it's worth going to New Zealand or would that be pretty much the same experience?
Yes, The two country Australia and New Zealand are very much similar. Because the distance between the two country are not very much.
No, very different! Australia has more varied wildlife; there are no marsupials nor snakes in New Zealand. New Zealand is much smaller and has a maritime climate. There is probably more variety in the geographical features over a much smaller distance than in Australia. And New Zealanders are much better at rugby than Australians!
Landscapes are also very different: bush, desertic lands, tropical forests in Oz. Fjords, glaciers, volcanoes mountains and humid temperate forests in NZ.

New Zealand is bumpier and they hold their liquor better... ;-)
Cheers,

As far as geography goes, its kind of like asking "since I've already been to Arizona, is there much point in visiting Norway?"
"since I've already been to Arizona, is there much point in visiting Norway?" - brilliant!
