So hungry I could eat a horse.... (a question about food)

fracmeister has indicated that this thread is about Kazakhstan

Horsemeat is actually pretty healthy if you can get past the image of a filly's kind, soulful eyes looking at you. The meat is lean, finely textured, slightly sweet, rich in protein, and tender. In Quebec and European countries, only horse butchers can sell horsemeat, and it is sold in the form of minced meat, sausages, steaks, and brochettes. Montreal is particularly fond of this meat, and butchers that specialize in it have become increasingly busy in recent years because of the spread of mad cow disease.

I would have thought that Kazakhstan and Mongolia were the two biggest contenders for that prize?
When asked, my Mongolian friends will unanimously say that horse meat is the Mongolian national food, despite the fact that they do eat more mutton.

You probably are right, when you ask google this was their answer lol

"In many other nations, however, eating horse meat is no big deal - and in some cultures, it's even considered a delicacy. Mexico, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Poland and China are among the nations where many people eat horse meat without a second thought."

My answer most likely is outdated and something I must have hear a while ago. May I ask what they said horse meat tasted like?

Well, I ate plenty of horse. Steaks, sausages, burgers beşbarmaq and more. It mainly tastes like beef but the steaks were pretty lean and maybe a touch sweet. The Kazakhs tend to eat their steaks well done s

I just tried the steak. It tasted like overcooked beef.

NOT like chicken

Really? I had thinly sliced horse belly in a hotpot and it was really tender! (And, yes, a tad sweet). Do you know what parts of the horse you had?
