Hi Emily I'm in melbourne at the minute working and trying to get some money together. Thinking of heading travelling in August/September time defo wanna do the east coast but little nervous about doing it on my own.. I've met a good few ppl over here but most of them have already done the east coast.. Thinking of maybe doing Peter Pan or backpackers world trips but open to anything.

I am also planning on going solo in September... Starting in Sydney and working my way up the east coast, maybe stopping to work etc if I find somewhere I lIke. I'm trying to keep my plans as open as possible!!

How long are you planning to be in sydney for? I'm not sure whether to stick around for xmas and new year or just do a month or so and head off..
Yeah it's hard to make any plans but don't want to be without work or a place to stay either, especially over xmas and new year!
Not very good so far, i have absolutely nothing booked and no idea where to start!
How about with you?
Im heading to Darwin in 2016 for farm work and heard its the best time to go for that sort of work so that would be an option when you go.
A lot of people i know who went over have all settled in Perth so ill be heading there for a while too

To be honest, I'm not actually sure!! I'd like to spend Xmas/New year In Sydney, however I just don't know because it depends who you meet and where you feel comfortable I suppose!
Lots of people are booking onto these Ultimate Oz experiences, I'm not sure whether I should do one... Have you looked into anything like that?

Yea I've looked into a few of those tour groups I know loads of ppl that used Peter Pan and backpackers world your groups which I was thinking about cos there supposedly good for meeting ppl. I'd ideally love to hire a campervan and drive it but just wouldn't fancy that on my own
That looks like it could be good. I was going to start in Darwin originally but changing my mind. I think i'd quite like to finish there really!
I was looking at an ultimate oz one for 14th September! IT looks really good and a good way to meet people.
I'd like to do the campervan too but i didn't fancy it on my own.
I did it for 2 weeks a few years back with some friends and a lot of the roads are in the middle of nowhere with nothing around so wouldn't feel that safe on my own.
How long is the ultimate oz trip and how much all the companies seem to do exact same route and use same hostels so thinking cheaper the better ..
