I've been to Vietnam about 5 different times now and I've unfortunately never made it up to Ha Long Bay. I've wanted to though! My favorite place in Vietnam is Nha Trang/Mu Ne. However, since hearing about the Son Doong cave, I've wanted to see that too! It's supposed to be the largest cave in the world!
Basically in a trip you should bring photo equipment, luggage and bag, miscellaneous, and money. I think you should beware not to bring alcohols and of course illegal drugs during your travel.
Nha Trang/Mui Ne are very beautiful. I also want to come there.
Bring swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses, sandals.
