It mostly depends on what you need/like/want in a camera... will you be taking professional photos, are you looking for a wide-angle lens, better zooming quality etc. ?

You already have a camera that you love and (I assume) know how to operate very well... so I can't imagine why you wouldn't take it? Why settle for an inferior camera that you're not accustomed to?
Countless people travel all the time with camera packages that are WAY more expensive than anything Samsung produces and with common sense and street smarts they get along just fine.

Yea as terry said as long as your careful you should be alright taking your current camera.
