Hey I'm in melbourne at the minute been here since January working and trying to get some money together for some travelling. Heading to splendour in the grass in byron at the end of July and thinking of heading up the east coast to cairns from there. No set plans as I'm slightly worries about doing it all on my own. Considering Peter Pan or backpackers world travel companies but pretty laid back with my plans so far. Interested in hearing from anyone with similar plans or anyone up for a travel buddy.
Peter pans and backpackers world are owned by the same people so it is effectively the same company, as is (like travel bugs and happy travels the same). I booked with Peter pans the first time I did the coast but I wouldn't again, they are the cheapest but the trips are not the best, I'd rather spend a couple hundred more $ and get a better quality trip.

I booked my East Coast with a guy called Grant, in Wicked Travel in Sydney. Cannot recommend the guy enough he was a real help! Tailored the whole trip to suit me, he recommended a few bits to do that turned out to be awesome and even gave me a cheeky discount on the whole thing. If you can get to Sydney it's worth giving him a visit, but any wicked travel store is a good place to go

Hey I'm in Melbourne working now too and doing the east coast 25th July till 19th august. If this fits in with your timing we should do it together. I've already lived in sydney too, so would be happy to start around Byron or do cairns down to sydney
