Best place to visit:
Liard hot springs!
Best place to see northern lights that was recommended to me was Takhini River. I believe it was a 1 hour drive from Whitehorse (towards Alaska). Friends of mine saw them at Liard hot springs.
Best travel guide:
The Milepost
Get gas when you can, just to be sure.
