I need advice on the boots I will need to walk about in Findland and Bergan in January and Feburary 2016. Should I buy the boots that have insulation for -40 degrees in Australia or should I buy them in Bergan If I buy in Bergan how much would the boots cost in kron? Should I buy the transfer from airport to my hotel here in Australia or at the Bergan airport? How much would it cost in Krons?

The Budget option would be leather boots from an army surplus store, a couple of (European) sizes too large, then get woolen socks to fill them out, but make sure they still are big enough. Too small boots give bad insulation.
In addition to socks there are felt-soles that can be bought relatively cheap (at least in Norway - where I live, probably in Finland too). You lose more heat through the sole (because it is in Direct contact With the ground), so one or perhaps two felt soles in every boot is fine.

Thank you for your advice. I will buy the felt sole in Bergan as I will have time to look around before my tours. You have helped settled my concern. My wish and hope is to catch the Aurora Borealis and enjoy your beautiful country Norway and also Findland. Do you mean the town of Bergen when you Write Bergan? Bergen is Norway's 2nd largest town, situated on the west coast (AKA Rain Coast). I do not know how easy it will be to buy those Things there, I have no idea. Bergen is not much of a Winter town normally, it has a climate similar to the North of England, only Rainier. Felt soles and woolen socks you can probably find everywhere in Norway/ Finland. I do not think it will matter much where you buy leatherboots, as long as they fit the description. If you do not find suitable felt soles, soles cut out of multiple layers of newspaper is much better than nothing. Scrificing app 10 cm of a sleeping mat to make soles, I also know to have been done. These soles will insulate, but not absorb moisture the way felt do, so Your feet might get damp inside the boot.
I own Ecco Track 6 boot which I wear in the winter season. I love it as it doesn't look bulky. It has natural shape and looks perfectly durable in adverse uses. The boot contains soft textile sock lining absorbs moisture. Check out, you may find it in Bergan.
