I plan on going to Brisbane during June-July either next year or the year after, but I have some questions. I'm planning on going during my summer break from school, but summer in the US is winter in Australia. Is it worth it to go then, or should I wait and go sometime from November-January?
June/July might be colder, but it's infinitely more pleasant than November-January. The former period has daytime temperatures in the low 20s (erm, 70-ish in fahrenheit), the latter has them not just at 30 and above (85+), but also tends to have wretched humidity, making the place quite unpleasant.
Why Brisbane, btw? It's not the most appealing city in Australia by any measure I can think of...
Thanks for the info. As for why I want to go to Brisbane, there are a couple of places I want to go to around there. The plan right now is that we'll spend most of our time in Cairns, but we'll go down to Brisbane for a couple of days.
So for Cairns the situation is even more clear: They don't have the regular four seasons you know, but just two, the wet and the dry. June/July is in the middle of the dry season, and pretty much perfect, November-January is the start of the wet season.
