Advices about our German itiniary

Hi , My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids 4 and 8 yearls old) are going to Germany next summer (22-25 days between july 11 and august 20). I need advice on that itiniary (we are very open to any change since nothing is booked yet).

Berlin is perfect to get an insight into modern history, and kids must like Berlin Zoo. Dresden is amazing with its architecture and gallery! Munich is a must!
Stuttgart would be a nice option for your family as well due to its Wilhelma Zoo and Botanical Garden, and there's Viniculture Museum that provides a nice insight on the history of winemaking

I visited the Moselle area as a child with my parents, sadly over 30 years ago now, and remember really liking Cochem, Bernkastel Kues, and Trier, as we as Burg (castle) Eltz, which I don't remember where it is. The area was love, with beautiful scenery, lovely castles, and great little wine cellars that were fine with us kids being in tow.

When you are in Munich, you could take a trip over to Schwangau and see Neuchwanstein Castle (which is the castle from Chittychittybangbang. The castle is stunning, inside and out, and there is a gorge nearby, with the Marienbrucke (bridge) that is fun to walk I over and gave a great view. There is another castle nearby as well, Hohenschwangau. When we went there as kids, we were camping the other direction from Munich, in Pfronten, on the border with Austria, and we also did a day trip out to Obersdorf, where we took the gondola / cable car up the Nebelhorn.

Berlin is somewhere I have been much more recently, and it is an excellent place to visit.
