Alone in New York for Christmas Day

Hi,
I am currently in the USA for work, based down in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I have a few days off at Christmas and so have booked a trip to New York City. I was looking for some help for what to do on Christmas Day as I am all by myself?
It would be great to be able to spend the day with people rather than be on my own. If anyone has any suggestions of where would be good to go, or if anyone is looking to spend Christmas Day with someone, that would be great.
Thanks
Joe

I expect most of the bars/restaurants in town to be full. A lot of people in NYC are tourists, and they all need to go somewhere.

Go to O'Donoghues on 44th street near Times Square--or take a ferry across to Weehauken and go to one of the restaurants overlooking the Hudson River (that's where I'll be on Christmas Day).

Also, you can go to any sports bar and watch the basketball games--they have five NBA games that go from about 12 PM all the way to about 8 PM. The main one will be at 5 PM (a repeat of last year's final between the Golden State Warriors (with Stephen Curry) versus the Cleveland Cavaliers (with LeBron James)).

Forgot to mention--I'd ask you to join me, but I'll be with my wife's family that evening.

Thank you Calcruzer for the tips, really appreciate it.
I have landed in New York today so let the adventure begin - though if the weather carries on, it looks like I will have to spend Christmas day sight seeing.
I wish you a great Christmas
