well, I am the most indecisive person in the world, and I want other peoples advice here
American Airlines has a one-way fare from Lima to London for $495, with a four-hour layover in Miami. That's not a bad price for travel during the peak holiday period.
I obviously could be totally wrong but it sounds like you might have reached the point where you simply need to have a 'holiday' from travelling. Travelling can be super exhausting. It's not like being at home where you have a weekend every week where you have permission to be lazy and get some energy back...it's all too easy while travelling to feel like you have to just go and go and go and forget to actually have a break every now and then. At least that's what's it's like for me. Without taking little breaks from travelling I also reach a point where things that should be exciting just aren't anymore.
Perhaps home would be a perfect place. Your family will surely be happy to have you home at this time of year for once...and if you're home this year then you can probably be away for next few without feeling too guilty! If you're anything like me it only takes a week to realise 'wow, life at home is just the same as it always was...I think I'll disappear again for a while to have more fun overseas' - and you might have renewed enthusiasm to get out amongst it all again. Maybe either home or - like you started saying - somewhere with perfect beach weather so you can have a week or two without any real travel plans...just relaxing on a beach with some books...
And changing long-held plans should be the least of your worries. Things change. You gotta make sure you're enjoying the moment and if making big changes is required, then that just means you have listened to what you need and responded as required.
