Hey guys. Looking into traveling and working in oz. plan is to get out there, work for a few months then travel and work where needed. I know for legal reasons you need either £2000 $2000 in your bAnk to get into the country what isn't a problem. Any one got any advice on what would be the min amount to take to get started on? Looking at going by October November time so if anyone fancies meeting up that would be awesome, going at it alone do would be good to meet some new people in the same boat!
You actually need $5000AUD (which is £3,300) when you enter Australia as part of the visa requirements (http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/417/eligibility-first.htm#d) as well as an onward ticket or funds to buy one.
In terms of money, it really depends what you want to do when you get there. Australia is a very expensive country and you should budget about £1,500 per month of travel - it's very easy to go over this. If you're hoping to work straight away you can probably get away with having the minimum amount.
