Not been there yet myself, but for the backpacking scene I've heard that vang vieng, laos is a wicked party spot and should def be on the agenda for those hitting se Asia.
I'm going to New Orleans in a few weeks and I'm prepared to party. This will be my first time going, but from everyone I've heard from it's non-stop music and fun.
I can also vouch for Montreal, I live a few hours away. There's always something to do there.

I wouldn't miss Miami. And there is a great beach in Croatia that you might be interesting in, it's on island of Pag and it's called Zrce. During July and August there is absolute mess and confusion there.
