Are there alot of jobs in Perth right now?

I am also planning a trip to oz early next year, i have spent the last week or so (not actually doing any work) but looking into where i'd like to visit and what to do while im out there.
What do you do out there brad ?
I have looked into a working holiday on farms/orchards. I plan to take enough money out there with me. just want to work out there for a bit to boost funds and more importantly enjoy the experience.

depends were you go, east side especially sydney is a rat race over 200 applications PER job!! i applied for 165 jobs in a week and did not get one response, and i have 15 years experience! they dont like whv holders, in perth i got a job within 6 days. you flying straight to perth lydia? where you from?
Oh really is it that competitive? What kind of jobs were you looking for? ie - office based or farm work etc etc. Why dont they like WHV holders? Im going to be buggered then cause we will be going to Sydney at some point.
Hopefully if Perth is a bit easier then i'll find something fairly quickly. My experience is mostly office based.
