Hi,
I've just started researching travelling indonesia for 3 months next march/april. Thinking all the usual haunts sumatra, java, bali, gili islands. I'm pretty new to all this as I was originally hoping to make it to australia but cant afford it. Can you recommend must see stuff or a general common used route for those places? Any idea on what sort of budget I'd be looking at as well (I understand that such a broad question but I mean very rough, I dont mind staying anywhere nice but would like to do as many activities as poss).
Any help would be great

well.. if youre from australia, you can start the route from bali and then to Java, and finish in sumatera. in bali you can see some beaches and culture stuff, some traditional ceremonies.
and also in java,. i suggest you to visit Bandung and Jogjakarta.
in sumatera you can visit lauser national park, and then lake toba in North Sumatera. and also in Nort Sumatera you can visit Bukit Lawang and Berastagi.. doing rafting or climbing activity and also see orangutan.
and then the last place maybe you can viit Banda Aceh.. its such a nice place with beautiful beaches..
about the budget it always depend on how long you will stay here. and what kind of hotel or foods do you pick
