Hi. I've just booked a weekend break to Paris, only there's a slight error on my ticket in that the first initial of my first name is incorrect. Can anyone tell me whether the airline (AirFrance) / airport (Heathrow) will overlook this as the name is otherwise correct and date of birth the same. Or will it prevent me from flying? Bit worried.
They may not notice but if they do it could cause problems, especially if you get a job's worth at the check-in desk! I'd contact Air France and get it amended just in case.
Air France have been in contact with me and they said as I'm from a European country travelling to another destination within Europe only the surname needs to be correct.
This explains why my friend was able to fly (with a different airline) when documents had been booked using his middle name instead of his first name.
Thought I'd update so if anyone else ends up in a similar situation you know not to panic!
Happy travelling
