Planning questions on Vegas/West Coast trip

Hi there,

Hi!
Well you didn't say how long you had so hard to say how long in Vegas. But three days seems like quite enough, at least for me. From flagstaff to LA is around an 8 hour drive, and personally I enjoy LA the least out of everywhere in California so I would suggest San Diego, but that's just me. Santa Barbara is a nice little town. And in Utah about 4-6 hours from Flagstaff there's Zion national park (which I always recommend) if you want some more nature. Or just drive up the coast.

Zagel,
Most visitors to Vegas stay 3 days. That is about enough for shows, sightseeing, gamble. Flagstaff to LA is around 7 hours. But since historic is on the way, I suggest you get off I-40 and travel part of 66. We did that last spring and covers the section between Kingman and Seligman. With early start, you could still reach LA before 7pm. I also will vote for over LA. Smaller city with more to do/see IMO. In LA you will spend too much time in traffic to be enjoyable. Of course LA has plenty to as well. Nixon & Reagan Libraries, Getty Museums, Hollywood, etc. Good luck with your planning.
