One of my friends decide to visit China after first eight day of Spring Festival. He heard that the accommadation, transportation and admission fee of attractions are less at that time. Has anyone been to China at that time? And what should pay attention to?
After 8 days, the mass movement of people around the country will be about back to normal.
I haven't heard of admission fees to attractions changing because of the holiday, but sometimes not all options are available due to crowds (for example in Shanghai, entrance to the Pearl Tower might not have any of the mid-level entries available - sold out- during spring festival, so you have to pay to go all the way to the top, even though you can stop at all levels on the way down.) But accommodation could be reduced as typically locals will not be travelling after the official holiday period.
Being the spring festival, China is over the worst of winter and it is pleasant weatherwise to visit.
