Is there really no way to rent a car in the US if you are under 18? I'm flying into Las Vegas and wanted to rent one for a week.
There ARE places you can find that will be willing to rent a car to you, so don't worry!! I am doing the exact same thing later this year. No major companies such as Hertz etc will rent to Under 25, and those that do WILL NOT rent to anyone under the age of 21. Your best bet, as with me, is to find a small independent company/ garage etc... They have decent rates, and don't charge too much for younger drivers. Sorry to be personal, but how old are you exactly, and do you hold a driving licence? Full or provisional?
Cheers!
Haha not the worse personal question ive been asked on the internet. Im 17 but will be 18 when I start my trip. So sounds like just wait till I get to Las Vegas then find a rental place there? thanks for the info xx
Ah brilliant then! Do you already have a driving license then? A great place to try considering you're going to be 18 by the time you go, is: http://www.foxrentacar.com I have a friend who used this in Vegas when she was 18, and it's the one I'm using as well. What months are you travelling to Vegas, I'm going there in the summer ! :D
Jess,
I just went to and on the FAQ it states you must be 19. I will call them and see what they say. Contact me you need help with Vegas.
Jess,
I called Fox and according to the lady I spoke with, minimum age is 19. Sorry.
I would still try when you get out there. As I said, I have a 18 y/o friend who rented from Fox in Vegas last year. It's worth a try! :D
