Care for the Wild has updated its information on the tiger temple at Kanchanaburi.
click here to find out more about this notorious place with its wildly misleading claims.
Yes, people should avoid such horrible tourist traps which treat animals as something to make money from and nothing more.
I was close by some months ago and a Thai man had a leopard heavily drugged and was letting people have their photos taken holding it, etc. They should have been ashamed of themselves. The drugs use eventually kill such animals.
Thanks for highlighting this.
Is there anywhere genuine to visit tigers in Thailand or elephants?
Somewhere genuinely looking after the welfare of the animals and not a money making scheme etc
Sadly one has to be very wary of almost all animal attractions in Thailand.
Why not educate yourself first? Then you will know what to look for.
One of the first things to ask yourself is what are the animals doing there in the first place, then ask if there is any benefit to the animals or conservation.
This is not to say that there are some genuine conservation organisations in Thailand that genuinely need your help......or cash
