Travelling to Australia Dec 2013

Hiya All,

Hello!
I'm not going quite as early as you.. But I will be arriving in Sydney on the 19th Jan, planning on staying there for a few weeks or something. (Just going with the flow really)
But hoping to travel up the east coast too.. I'm hoping I just meet people who are up for doing the same. As I am going solo
Is the greyhound experience where you just hop on and off, from bus to bus? Or have I got that completely wrong haha!

Heather

Hello Heather,
I will be leaving once your be arriving in Australia.
You got any plans yet or booked anything?

Yes the greyhound is a hop on and off bus.

Regards

Hey!
I've got my first 10 nights booked with Ultimate Oz, so that will take me upto the 29th January.
After that I have no plans.. Hoping I can meet people who fancy heading up the east coast. And just go from there really.

I'm getting a 12 month working Visa and thinking about doing fruit picking somewhere to extend my visa for another 12 months.
And just want to travel as many places as I can really.
No accommodation or plans set in stone for after the 29th, as of yet. Just going to see what happens when I'm there

Heather

Hi Emily!

I plan to arrive in Cairns at the beginning of December and traveling down the coast to Sydney for New Year then onto Melbourne before travelling back to the UK at the end of January

Priced my flights and hoping to book in the next couple of weeks when I get my leave from work authorised!!

depending on your age, how much money you will have when you enter the country and whether you have a full car license or not, you should consider buying a car or a camper van. the greyhound bus experience is an old bus going all around the country which is way overpriced.

there are other ways you can get from destination to destination and that's by looking on Australian gumtree. there is a section for travel companions and rideshare. there are always going to be people offering a lift. its a great way to save money.

the other option. google relocation Australia. there are a few websites where you can book camper vans from $1 a day! the reason its so cheap is because companies such as budget, Avis will need cars/campervans/vans relocated to different branches around the country.
For example a campervan needs relocating from brisbane to broome which is 3500km the deal is you have 7 days to get there for $1 a day with a $500 fuel allowance. if you dont make it in 7 days then the price of the camper goes up by how many days extra you have it.

hope this helps

rob

just adding to robs point, the relocation deals are perfect for people who havent planed their trip and go with the flow as u can choose from a list of relocations journeys to help you decide where to go next

I arrive in Aus on 22nd Dec
