Hi,
October is the end of the rainy season and may be wet. I would go in mid November or later.
Literally hundreds of thousands of tourists in Thailand. If you want a companion, you won't have to look far.
If you get to the airport a bit early on the day, you can wait till another young lady on her own or even two together joins the queue for your flight, and start chatting with her/them and maybe sit together on the way to Thailand and so have a companion right from the start.
Book the first few nights accommodation then you can work it out from there. You get 30 days visa exemption on entering Thailand but may need a visa in neighbouring countries. Air Asia and a few other airlines are not that expensive for long distances, or even short hops, which can be better than an everlasting bus journey.
Great thanks very much for the advice. Might look into going a little later!
Hi we travelled in Thailand dec 2012. You get a 30 day visa if you fly in 15 at land crossings. You can extend the visa by a week we did ours in co samui. You can apply for a travel visa before going which gives you 60 days and can be extended by 30 when there. We met someone who had got this by post from Birmingham. Hope this helps.
Full moon party, NYE!
"Havent booked a return flight so just going to go with the flow...."
Round trip plane tickets are cheaper than buying 2 one way flights. (When using major airlines flying long distance.)
"2 or 3 months..."
You ought to make up your mind because how long you stay in Thailand affects the visa you need. For stays over 30 days you need a visa. Some airlines may not let you board without a return ticket.
Tourists visit Thailand every month of the year including the "rainy season!" Often when rain falls it ends in a short time and the sun comes back out. Hotels are cheaper during the off season. Closer to Christmas the higher prices for hotel rooms.
are you going to be staying in Thailand the entire time or do you want to go to Cambodia, Laos, and all that??
