Whats better for travelling.. backpack or suitcase?

Hello! I went to Australia for 2years, and it totally depends on what you want to do. I mean with the beach scenerio...do you really see yourself taking your luggage to the beach? :P

I went with a backpack on wheels, it never once went on my back as it was ffarrrr too heavy!! I would say suitcase, however if you are contemplating going to Asia on the back of your aus trip, then def a backpack. You do not want to be carry a suitcase in Asia!

The answer to the problem of a backpack being too heavy, is to take less stuff. :-)

I'd say backpack every time - suitcases are for people doing two weeks in Benidorm or people having their luggage portered from taxi to hotel room. As soon as you start trying to use one for real travel you see all the uneven pavements and bobbly kerbs, they splash through puddles and they get broken when dropped, you're trailing at the back being a pain if you're with a group of backpackers, and you're trundling them into chewing gum or worse and tracking it into your room.

Get a 35 litre travelpack and have more fun. :-)))
