Hi. I'm flying into Melbourne next Wednesday, 23rd October from KL. Arrive in at 21.00 and was wondering if anyone wanted to share a hotel and cab or bus into the city to share costs? I havn't booked hotel yet but will be doing so on Monday. Only staying 1 night in Melbourne as i'm heading to Bendigo next day. Thanks
Not able to join, I'm sorry, but thought I'd clarify it is possible to do this solo reasonably cheaply.
I recommend using Skybus (), it's a bargain compared to the ~$60 taxi fare!
Also, there are a few places near Southern Cross Station (I presume you're taking a bus/train from here the next day) where it is possible to get a bed for $25 or less. is probably one of the closest.
Anyway, hope you have a safe flight!

To Be honest,Nangiloc,about 50km from Mildura is my destination,catching up with a guy i worked for years ago,but ive a vague recollection of a raucous night in Bendigo once so in going to see if i can replicate it!
I have been at Mildura long back, it is a nice place and I liked it.
