Many visitors use both Malaysia and Cambodia for visa runs. If you are down south, I would get to Hat Yai a few days before your visa expires. Many travel shops run vans or buses to the border or Penang. If you are closer to BKK, use one the many visa run companies from either BKK or Pattaya.
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do in regards to the visa. It's my understanding that the triple entry only gives you the ability to go in and out of the country within your 90 days, not 90 days on each entry. So if you do a land crossing after your 90 days you will only get 14 days.
If this is what you want, then you'd do far better than going from Surat thani all the way over to Cambodia or down to Malaysia to just hop on over to Ranong in Burma. Any tourist shop in Ko Tao, or Samui can set you up for a visa run and arrange the ferry and mini bus for not much more than you would pay trying to do it yourself. I don't think you can get entry to Burma from Ranong, but things there are changing very fast so maybe you can now. If you can, take a week there, its amazing.
im trying to basically get to all these places within my visa but i dont think my 90 day visa will be enough.
would you guys recommend me getting a flight out after ko samui then getting another 90 days when i come back in ?

I did a quick search and a tourist visa will give you 60days with a 30 day extension while in Thailand, but that same tourist visa, if you leave the country within 60 days you get another 60 days on re entry. So you'd be all good if that is visa you are applying for. I didnt see anything about a 90 day visa, but I seem to remember they use to offer this a couple of years ago. Things change all the time with visas. You really need to do some careful research on what visa you are getting and what it allows you to do, and by research I don't mean asking a bunch of yo yo's on a forum. Actually go to the Thai embassy website and read about the visas.

sorry i meant 60 days for entry through air then obviously the 30 day extension to make it 90.
yeh your 100% right im going to Birmingham soon to the thai embassy to have a chat with them. im just going to put my cards on the table and say here is what i want to see/visit and how do i go about doing it it terms of visa.
