I haven't used Kiwi experience but I believe it's a bit of a party bus; instead I'd recommend . I travelled with them for 4 weeks around the South Island - they do similar routes to Kiwi experience and it's the same kind of concept, so you get dropped off at your hostels and you can stay for as long as you like in each place. They are really social and it's a good way to meet people but there's no pressure to go out partying so it's a nice balance.
I was going to recommend Magic Bus but I've just read that they have been taken over by Kiwi Experience.
