Travelling alone nervous

Hi everyone
I'm a 21 year old male from England bored of life at home and wanting more
I want to go Australia for a year but I would have to do it alone and it holds me back massively!help nervous nervous nervous
Has anyone else been in the same boat? I desperately want to go and see the Australia but am afraid of travelling alone.i don't want to end up lonely that far from home lol
Hope some one else feels the same any advice would be fantastic
Thank you!!!!

Hey Mate, Im 22, i was in the same boat as you back in January i wanted to go but thought at first it was a bit daunting doing it alone. but i booked it all up and ive met somebody off here that i am now doing some of my travels with. I have also spoken to many people that are doing the same thing, and people have also said to me if u was on ur own as soon as u get to hostels you make friends that way! So im sure you would/could talk to people on here and find somebody to go with.
hope this helps

Have you booked a hotel and a job sorted on the other side?
Think I'm just gonna go for it sort my visa tomorrow , book my flight 1st December and begin my journey lol mega mega nervous though. What are you taking with you a bag pack or a suitcase sorry for all the questions!

Hey

I'm leaving for Oz on the 1st of January, going on my own too, but I think it's more exciting than terrifying! I'm just going for a month at first to travel and not have to look for work. But I will definitely be going back a few months later on a WHV! I'm hopeful about meeting people so don't worry, I'm pretty sure there are tonnes of us doing it solo!

Brilliant sounds wicked!
I'm now looking at that sort of time too ino exiting I agree can hardly sleep at night at the moment buzzing for it.am nervous but massively excited ! Where's your route ? Want to go Sydney 1st looks amazing!

I know, it's hard to focus on anything else once you've the idea in your head. I'm landing in Melbourne first then going to work my way up the east coast Sydney does look amazing, can't wait for it!

Hi there,

If you want to do it then I would say just go for it. What's the worst that can happen?...you don't like it, you go home, end of...but at least you can say you tried.

I landed in Sydney on Saturday, I'm 24 and I came by myself, but honestly I think that's half the fun...you don't have to be bogged down with checking with other people what they want to do and when etc, you just get up and go. I'm slightly different in Sydney as I am staying with family friends, but when I head to NZ in November then I'll be completely on my own but I can't wait.

If you are going to book for the December it might be worth checking accommodation as I heard it's near on impossible to get hostels for xmas and ny in certain parts of OZ...although not 100?% as it doesn't apply to me so much.

Either way, I'm sure you'll have a blast and you'll meet people on your travels. win. win
