I would suggest either reading the blog of or getting in touch with ladiesofleisure:
I don't know that their year long trip covered quite the same countries but they had some adventures you might be interested in and also managed to get some volunteer work rebuilding houses—with no experience!
And yes, financially Australia is very different to many of the other countries on your list so expect it to be a rude shock after travelling cheaper Asian countries.
