Hi, has anyone been to Tel Aviv or Eilat I'm in my mid 20's and want to know which city has a better nightlife, and would be more desirable to go to.
Eilat is Israel's Las Vegas because gambling is legal in the city, so as you can imagine it's very much of a party city. Also, there's no taxes there so everything is really cheap. It's right along the Red Sea and Jordanian border, which makes for some absolutely gorgeous views of mountains along the desert. There's even some great hikes around the area, I don't remember which one we did but you could see to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, which I thought was really cool. However, this city is very much a tourist town and gets sloppy.
Personally, I loved Tel Aviv. it seemed more like a real city, not just a tourist resort. Although I personally never went to the clubs there (we went to the port which was beautiful but more classy), i have heard they're lot's of fun. Plus, the beach at Tel Aviv was absolute perfection.
Whichever place you choose, you will have a great time. Enjoy your stay, Israel is awesome!!

Tel Aviv is more colourfull, different kind of people and nightclubs, it has more variety. if you ask me-MUCH better than Eilat!
Just to make one clear correction - GAMBLING IS ILLEGAL in Israel, all of Israel including Eilat
If you run into a Casino it's an illegal one, so beware!
There are some ships in Eilat that run out to international waters and then open the Casino, it's "semi legal" if there even is such a thing.
Eilat has vacation style nightlife, Tel Aviv has an "everyday" style nightlife
Both very active and full of life (so they tell me )
