My partner, myself and 2 and a half year old boy would like to spend a year in South America learning Spanish. We currently speak very little and I stress the little! We had consider work stays as a good option but as we are a family are there others options that may be better? Are there places or groups that would be better suited for families than others? We are both experienced Osteopaths and would be happy to offer this service too.
I would be so grateful to hear others advice, especially those who have done this or something similar and succeeded.

I fear this is going to be a little trickier than you imagine, especially when you're starting off with no Spanish. Keep in mind that you're competing with a pile of locals who work very cheap and of course can speak the language.
At the very least research places that have a very low cost of living.
