Planning a trip around the world and I am looking for some nearly "out of this world" places that others found memorable. I have been to Europe multiple times, now looking to return and expand my horizons even more.
Here's two to research, which I was quite impressed by:

Ronda, Spain

- Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Madikwe NP, South Africa
- Mamiraua Sustainable Reserve, Brazil
- Queensland's outback, especially towards Boulia and Karumba
- Pitcairn
- North Korea
- Saba, Montserrat and Dominica islands (Caribbean)
- Bandhavgarh and Kanha NP, India
- Faroer Islands
- Tortuguero NP, Costa Rica

I don't know how to get there without a boat but Cape Raul in Tasmania is spectacular - Ireland's Giants Causeway on Steroids.
A safari in Tanzania - The Serengeti plains & Ngorongoro Crater - names to conjure with.
and while you are there you might as well pop over to Zanzibar - about as exotic as life gets.
The Taj Mahal is very pretty but is extraordinary seen from the Agra Fort nearby.
And of course home - Ottawa - it's very pretty - but you knew that already since your taxes help keep it that way.

overkill - Beautiful salt flats, omg! Svalbard looks like a wild experience, but..... brrr! Easter Island of course, good choice! The Galapagos islands are one that I had on my list to see as well, and for you, I do recommend my home town Canada!

Now here is a question.... Are there any places that have you weary to visit these days with all that goes on around the world? I find myself wanting to visit some areas but just a little nervous! Has anyone ever travelled and felt uncomfortable with the decision afterwards...or happy you went?

I think you might have meant wary rather than weary but - anyway this may make you weary too.
My story is this ...
I was on a cruise that called in at Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand. The bus tour out into the countryside passed through the city & many parts where earthquake activity had occurred were pointed out to us. Some of the damage was extensive. A church being particularly badly hit.
About three days after leaving Christchurch we learnt that another major earthquake had just hit christchurch again. Lots of damage & the church had been demolished this time.
The cruise organised a whip round to send a little cash back to Christchurch.
Later on that cruise, we were in Vietnam. The days tour went off without incident but back on board there were rumours of an earthquake or Tsunami - no one seemed to know what or where. Next day we learnt of the Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan. In Vietnam we felt nothing although some people claimed to see high waves. I was near the ocean & saw none of that.
Two years later I was in Japan and the tour guides were making a point of thanking us for coming & being so brave. They too need the tourist dollars.
On the same cruise, we were due to dock at three ports in Egypt. Safaga ( for Luxor & the Valley of the Kings ) & Sharm el Sheikh & Alexandria ( for Cairo & the the Pyramids ).
The Captain announced that a revolution had broken out in Egypt & we had the substitution ports of an extra day in Dubai, another port in Oman & a stop in Israel.
A lot of people really did not want to go to Israel on account of getting the Israeli passport stamp & there was news of recent rocket attacks.
As it happened, the revolution had calmed down a bit & we did stop at Safaga. It was the first US cruise ship since the troubles had begun & the locals were ecstatic to see us. Lots of waving & smiles. Perhaps they saw dollar bills flashing by on the bus but nevermind, that's what tourists do, bring a source of income.
I think most passengers got off in Israel & that was a bonus for me. How many times do you get to go to the place reputed to be the actual spot where Jesus was born? And it was an eye opener to realise that Bethlehem is surrounded by a barbed wire topped wall with & machine gun totting army people check out the bus going in and out of the city.
That was all on one cruise and the captain & cruise company had to make decisions to keep us safe. We only had to decide wether tho get off the boat.
I have another cruise, starting next week, that circles the Black Sea, with scheduled stops in Russia & the Ukraine that have been canceled due to the upheavals there. Those poor folks living there are having to cope with so much and to top it off, tourists have stopped going. Personally I will make a point of getting to that area when it is safer to do so. Every little dollar helps.
Everyone must make there own decisions about whether to visit a place that is a bit scary but bad things happen outside your front door & mine, & bad things happen in doors too. So - what am I saying? Not a lot. Some places are best to avoid - of course. Heed government advisories. Be sensible.

Svalbard isn't really cold in summer. I assume between 0 and 15 °C.
Easter Island is a special place, but you should take a look closer to Chiloe Island. Awesome Island, just a bit wet.
