We're planning a 3-month+ trip round the Pacific NW from Jul-Oct inclusive, likely flying into Las Vegas and out from LA with a big loop around OR and WA States in between.
You can frequently buy Toyota RVs for under $2k. They're workhorses and hold their resale value.
I wouldn't worry about bears so much, just don't leave any food out.
Thanks for the tip, hamellr.
I didn't find anything anywhere near $2k when Googling Toyota RV's. www.toyotamotorhome.org has a few examples (they really are classics!) but they're pretty pricey given their age. And you've got to wonder how well a 1986-90 version would last a 4,000 mile road trip?
We always worry about bears - especially if camping in a tent!
ATB,
Jim
