LA Hollywood

My kids want to see the Hollywood stars and they'd love to assist a taping. We're going to be travelling Seattle to San Diego in August. Any recommendations of what we should do/see in LA? Thanks

Just Google, "free televesion show tickets LA" and you'll find lots of info.

Cheers,
Terry

Don't expect too much - LA is way way overrated in my book, and central Hollywood is pretty sad.

Is there anything worth visiting there?
Should we visit Paramount, Universal or Warner Studios?

The kids with enjoy the Universal Studios tour.

Universal Studios would probably be fun for the family. If you visit Hollywood, you might find some unusual people walking the boulevard. That could be interesting in itself. There are a lot of stars on the sidewalks which could amuse you. Grauman's Chinese Theater is a big tourist attraction. You may not actually get to se a lot of Hollywood stars, but there are tours to their homes in Beverly Hills. Take a visit down Rodeo Drive. As Cheers has suggested, you can always look for tickets to television shows (many are free).

All the stars in the pavement are on Hollywood Boulevard just west of the 101 (Hollywood Freeway). Most of the TV shows fill either close by or else in Burbank or else farther west near the La Brea Tar Pits area, which is itself a major attraction.

P.S. Actually, all tickets to TV shows are free (except for sporting events). I believe this is actually a FCC (Federal Communications Commission) requirement. And, yes, the Universal Studios tour is great. (I don't believe either Paramount or Warner Bros have a tour).
