S.O.S.

Hey everyone! I'm 20 years old russian girl. Spontaniously I decided to run away from my life for a while and now I'm planning a trip in July and August 2015.
I want to get a lot of emotions and different experiences, meet new people and discover their cultures. I don't like planning too much and my budget is almost crying (I'm student), but it will make this journey much more interesting and unpredictable.
I'm thinking about trekking in North India, or contrastive Vietnam, or, maybe, colourful Indonesia - my MUST-VISIT-LIST is really long!
Does anybody want to share with me this dream trip? Let me know if you're interested!
P.S. Wich places or counters do you like the most? Please, help me to choose destination.
All the best,
Nika

Hi wind_of_freedom!

Only writing to you about picking a specific destination, and since your budget is not that generous, I'd suggest Thailand/Indonesia. They're both well-known for the cheap opportunities of accommodation and transportation, so you'll do fine. Of course, this is something you'll need to decide together with your travel buddy, so good luck finding him/her and happy trails!

If your budget is tight you don't help yourself by purchasing a lot of one way long distance flights.

With a tight budget and a first time visitor maybe choose what you can afford first. You shouldn't have to be sleeping on streets and on park benches or in crappy places because you can't afford basic hotel accommodations.

There are many Russians who visit Thailand. There are even special flights from Russia to Thailand that land at U-Tapao International Airport. This might be the cheapest way to get to Asia.

From Thailand you can reach some nearby countries overland and with discount flights. But you must check the different visa requirements for your country. Look at a map of this area and see where the countries you want to visit are located. Then do a search for how much plane tickets will cost.

I think is better to have a definite return date. This way you can buy round trip plane tickets from your country. (Usually round trip is cheaper than buying 2 one way flights. But it depends on the airline.) Sometimes flying between nearby countries and Bangkok is not that expensive. In your country you can even visit a travel agency for prices for flights between different countries.

You need to have sufficient money to pay for your time overseas. Don't plan on working to augment your spending money when overseas. So plan out a budget, know how much you need for plane tickets and day to day expenses. Don't have enough money for a halfway decent hotel - don't stay overseas for so long!

Hi, karazyal!
Thank you for your reply. These advices are very useful for beginer traveller. I'm travelling around the world for 7 years and I always find cheap ways. If you want to see the world you don't need too much money! There's cheap hostels and friendly Couchserfers, there's buses and public transport and trains for long destinations and millions of other ways of saving money.
Sometimes its better to go on law-budget trip because only then you can see the reality of this country and only this way you can live like local people
When I wrote about my budget, I meant that there's not much money but enouph for the trip
