From southern India, Sri Lanka is just a short plane flight away.

Its really very good that you are planing to visit South India, in that you will cover whole Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. It's really a very beautiful place and the weather of South India is really awesome. You love it.

Ailipi and munar in kerela! Also, try Chennai! The beaches are pristine!

Hey,

It really depends on what you are looking for.

I personally liked Kerala very much. Munnar tea plantations, the backwaters and exotic landscapes around Alleppey, i didn't find Kochi particularly interesting but it has a nice european charm with great food.

In Karnataka, i was really impressed with the beauty and relaxed pace of Hampi. It was one of my favourite spots in India all together. And Gokarna is a nice beach destination if you are looking for wilderness and quietness.

Didn't have the chance to visit Tamil Nadu properly, but Madurai's Meenakshi Temple is in my opinion the most beautiful temple i saw in India. Didn't fall in love with Chennai or Pondicherry, but i am not a big fan of cities so should take that in consideration.

And of course Goa is enjoyable, even if the quality of its beaches cannot be compared to other world beach destinations. The good thing is you can find all kinds of beaches, some with a lively techno/trance party-scene, others with more of a hippy cool vibe, others more appropriate for families or romantic holidays.

Wish you happy travels!
