Two Months In South America in Mach and Feb 2016

I am a 69 year old male who has been around the world twice in each direction(East,West).I plan on fulfilling my dream of being on all seven continents in my lifetime,by traveling to South America and Antarctica from Portland ,Oregon.I will be traveling with my forty seven year old nephew. We plan on hopefully going on the Amazon in Peru,Rio,Buenos Aires ,IguazoFalls ,Patagonia,Machu Picchu.I know 2 month may not seem a lot.Does anybody have ideas

I recommand the following route :

Lima - Flight to Cusco- Machu Picchu- Lake Titicaca ( the highest sweet water lake in the world) - La Paz ( Bolivia)- Flight to Foz do Iguacu ( Brazil)- Iguazo Waterfalls - CocheCama-Bus to Buenos Aires - San Carlos de Bariloche ( Patagonia)...

This would be a good route for 2 month. If you ll like to have time for relax in the maintime.
For a trip to Rio and the lady s you ll should have more time

I agree with starting in Cusco and seeing Machu Picchu and then traveling in Peru. Make sure you have a good few days to acclimatize in Cusco because of the altitude. If you have health issues that may be affected by altitude it may be worth flying into Lima first then traveling to Cusco. February and March are good times to visit Patagonia and Buenos Aires because it is warm but not too hot. I would say you need at least a week in Buenos Aires, a week or more in Patagonia plus at least three days in Iguazu, to do the Argentina part of the trip. The logical route would be Peru – Argentina – south to Antarctica – then back. You can link Rio with Iguazu Falls quite easily by long distance bus or by plane but you would have to come back again the same route so I am not sure it is doable on a two-month trip.
