Hi Everyone!
Hi Alex,
Are you flying from the USA? Where is your first city to visit?
I just got back from Europe. I traveled for 17 days, March 29- April 15, 2015. I started and ended my trip in London. I met up with a friend in London for a few days and then again for a few days in his hometown in Germany.
It was my first time in Europe and all went smoothly. I traveled alone by rail throughout my trip and flew to London from Amsterdam for my last 2 days before flying back to USA. I had an itinerary so I can be on the go and not worry about last minute travel arrangements and places to stay. I didn't want to be on the computer looking for arrangements. Anyways here are a few recommendations that I was satisfied with.
Good luck and happy travels!mrgreen:

located in 10 cities.....6 on your list.....
Berlin: 3 min. walk from Berlin Central HBF station....I was there 2 full days, but I saw alot. An extra day would have been nice. 4 days is good.
Amsterdam: 5 min walk from Sloterdijk Station....about 15-20 min. bus ride from Amsterdam Central station to Amsterdam Sloterdijk railway station. Get a all day bus/metro pass.
2 days was good for me. You might want to cut to 3 days. Amsterdam central is very small. It's the same block/canal/street you turn into. Unless you plan to do everything the city has to offer. Long lines at the Anne Frank Museum, up to 3 hour wait. go very early a.m
Cologne: I recommend visiting Cologne since it's only 3 hrs (rail) from Paris and Amsterdam.
Hotel located in City Center about 10 min walk from Neumarkt Station. 2 stops from Cologne HBF Station.
If you go, visit Koln Dom, (Cologne Cathedral) right outside Cologne HBF Station. Take a City Hop on/off tour. I did one for 15 euros. I was only there for the day. Great way to see the city in 2 hrs if you don't hop on and off. I did return for 2 more days (wasn't planned) after Berlin and really enjoyed the city.
easyjet.com I flew from Amsterdam to London Gatwick. 1 hr flight and cheap. If you buy your ticket soon you can get very cheap tickets for August.
Paris: smartplaceparis.com about 10 min. walk from Gare du Nord train station. Lots to see and do,
6 days is good. I had 3 days. I would stay longer next time.
vapiano.com My friend took me to this italian restaurant in Duisburg, Germany and was hooked. Located in various cities in Europe: Amsterdam (walking distance from Central Station),
Berlin (inside Central HBF Station).
raileurope.com I bought my tickets in advance and through the train website and not raileurope.
