I have been to both, and I find them both equally enjoyable. Keep in mind that Disneyland has long lines as well as Six Flags Great America. Next to Disneyland is another theme park called California Adventure which is also very interesting and a lot of fun, thereby giving you a chance to enjoy two great parks. If you want it all, there is a Six Flags just approximately an hours drive north of Disneyland in California. It is called Magic Mountain. Mostly all of these parks have lines, but Disneyland has a system where you can make a scheduled appointment at a given time of the day to go to a ride and bypass the big lines. Also consider that the parks are the most crowded in the summer months as well as around the Christmas holidays in late December and into New Years Day. Spring break is also a busy time.
