Hepititis B vaccine

I asked at my asda pharmacy and they told me I will need to get a prescription from the doctor and take to asda and they will order the Hepititis B vaccination.

I belive that the prescription will be for SET of injections, not for a single one. It would be riddiculus I did vaccineted many times, and all of the vaccinations were made by doctor, so i'm pretty sure they will just deliver it directly to him

Is it worth talking to your gp practice nurse (who normally take the lead on vaccinations) ?

Mine had everything in stock, and there were no charges. While some individual vaccines aren't free on the NHS, sometimes there is a public health angle and you can get the combined vaccine free - i got hep a + hep b, one is free so as it was a combined vaccine both were free.

It would have to be administered by a nurse at your local GP's surgery. At my doctor's, the procedure is that the nurse advises which injections you require for your forthcoming trip and can administer them without the need for a prescription. I've recently done this for my forthcoming trips to Egypt and Central America: the nurse advised what I needed over the phone then booked me in for the relevant jabs.

It seems a strange thing for that pharmacy to advise you because as far as I'm aware, that's not how it works at all.
