I am planning to travel Italy for a week vacation from Germany. Please let m know important places to be covered in these 7 days.
My tentative plans is
Rome - 2 days
Venice - 2 days
Florence - 2 days
Rome - Vatican City and Colleseum. Also Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain.
Venice - Canals and Gondolas and Piazza San Marco and Basilica.
Florence - There is the statue of David in the Galleria dell'Accademia. Climb either Giotto's tower or Duomo's dome. Breathtaking views from the top. Florence cathedral is also nice
Maybe afternoon trip to Pisa? Its just over an hour by train.
Hope this helps.
Happy Travelling.
I would save Florence for later, personally. It's nice, but your trip is fast enough that I think you'll enjoy your destinations more (and be less exhausted) if you just do two. For me, Florence is first off the list. Yes, the cathedral is gorgeous, but Florence can't beat Rome. And Venice has so much character!
Hope that helps!
backpackblogger is right, picking two destinations instead of three would probably be a better use of your time. Rome and Venice will easily cover a week and keep you busy, no doubt about it!
All 3 are tourist traps; there are far nicer places to visit and spend time if you are looking to experience the real Italy! Florence & Rome really are beautiful but you will be surrounded by tourists and pay over-inflated prices wherever you go. Venice is interesting as well but again, too many tourists. Please don't think that you will experience the best Italy has to offer in these places.
Let me know if you would like some more information
I recommend visiting the Pantheon Agripa
If you want the big cities, your choice is fine. However if your preference is away from the cities than areas like the Dolomites Mountains, the lakes area and the Sorrento/Amalfi coast are to be considered.
The places to visit in the cities you are planning to visit include
Rome - St Peter’s basilica, Vatican Museums, Pantheon
Florence - Ponte Vecchio, Giotto’s bell tower, Piazzale Michelangelo
Venice - St. Mark’s Square, Grand Canal Tour, Burano Island
