Can I ask how you're getting from place to place? Will you be flying from NYC to Vegas/ San Francisco or driving cross country? I do not recommend renting a car in NYC. Parking is ridiculously expensive and unneeded. Public transportation is safe and quick. San Francisco is also very expensive and parking is atrocious. I'm a single female and wouldn't hesitate travelling alone.
Hi Kemmy thanks for replying and advice. I then might not be taking car in NYC. I will fly from NYC to SF and then drive to vegas. How does tht sound? Or public transport wd be better? But it will take days i believe.
Travelling alone mmmm sounds boring but if i dont have any options then i will definitely go for it. Do u recommend public transport in SF as well?

Yes to not renting a car while in San Francisco. Unless you are planning to drive down scenic Hwy 1 or out to Yosemite National Park. The metro is quick and easy. Have you considered staying in a hostel? There is an amazing one on Fisherman's Warf. http://www.hiusa.org/california/san-francisco/fishermans-wharf . I think you can easily take either Amtrak train or fly from SF to Vegas. I can look into the flights.

You are a great help Thanks! The hostel you suggested is booked on my scheduled dates. Is there any other option you can suggest. I think I will hire a car to to drive down to scenic hwy.
Any other place near SF which you suggest I shd visit? Where will you be during this time i.e Sept-24 Oct 31?
I'll be 3,000 miles away in South Carolina. There are other SF hostels or you can find a pretty decent hotel (though expensive in the city center). Please follow scenic highway down to Big Sur. It's amazing beauty. If you don't mind a drive (or split it up into 2 days) drive all the way down to San Diego. My home for 12 years. You won't regret it.
