Dailena what's up??
Hi Emma,
I am pretty much the same as you! I'm heading off to Melbourne the end of March and catching up with with a few friends there before doing my own thing. To be honest though I haven't got too far in my planning. I didn't bother with any packages or anything, what bout yourself?

Hey Lacey!
That's awesome! Where are you travelling from?? I have nothing planned only to go to Sydney for maybe 2-3 weeks and then head off. I definitely want to do farming to get the 2nd year visa but still have to look into the best time of year to do that and stuff. Will you be doing the regional work too? No packages either just got my visa and flights

I'm travelling from Glasgow! My flight goes to London then Singapore then Melbourne, soo excited but not looking forward to the length of flying time 😁 lol. Yeh I'm the same, want to do the work to get my 2nd year visa but there's so much out there just a bit overwhelmed. So much to do I don't know where to start 😆, guess as long as I've got my visa, flight, passport and money I'm good to go!!! How are you getting on? Are you nervous as well?

I'm going Cork - Amsterdam - Kuala Lumpur -Sydney! 26 hours in total so yeah, bit of a trek but I love flying so I'm happy with that haha😜 I want to do all of this planning but I feel like it's way too early. I've just been looking at websites that go on about the different kinds of farms to work on at different times of the year. I'm a bit nervous, that's why it's nice to talk to someone on here I'm hoping to meet people who I can catch up with over there 😃
I was going to do that route! Well via amsterdamn and Kuala Lumpur but that flight was even earlier in the mornin 😩 don't know what I'm moaning about I'll prob just sleep loads anyway 😂. Yeh same, it'll be great to meet new people and share experiences and ideas as well. We'll all be in the same boat 😃. To be honest I think it's prob good to check this stuff out now as we're going to be leaving for that airport before you know it! It'll fly by. Exciting !!!
I'll pm you my full name if you want to add me to fb and we can run ideas.

Hi there I've found this site planning my own trip overseas and landed on your post due to an inability to use the forum search function
But Seeing as I am here!!!!! Here is some advice from an Aussie girl.... Melbourne is a great place to set yourself up as a central point. It's driving distance from the touristy adventures like the great ocean road (where I grew up). It is significantly cheaper than Sydney in living expenses : while it is expensive to live in the CBD of Melbourne you can find cheaper shared housing and great backpackers in surrounding suburbs. Work is easy to come by in the city if you're cool with hospitality and retail. I work in the city in a job that has a lot of exposure to travellers - Melbourne is very welcoming and not so saturated with tourists that you'll struggle to find work. Regional centres like Bendigo (where I live now) and Echuca are great to live in but have a lot of farming work options as there aren't a lot of tourists looking for work in these areas. If you are looking for farm work in Victoria I advise steering clear of Shepparton!! Hope this helps you some.
